ChemCYS 2020 Info

ChemCYS' 15th edition took place from 19 to 21 February 2020 in Blankenberge (Belgium).

Our conference gave young attendees the opportunity to present early results of their research. Topics were focussed on the typical research domains in chemistry. The best oral and poster presentation of each session were awarded.

The headliners of the conference are the plenary speakers. We are proud to have welcomed the following leading scientists as plenary speakers at ChemCYS 2020:

  • Prof. Dr Sarah E. O'Connor, The University of East Anglia, School of Chemistry, Norwich, UK; Planck Institute of Chemical Ecology, Germany
  • Prof. Dr Javier García Martínez, Director of the Molecular Nanotechnology Lab at the University of Alicante, Spain; Founder and Chief Scientist of Rive Technology Inc, Boston MA, USA (replaced by Post-doc Noemi Linares).
  • Prof. Dr Krzysztof Matyjaszewski, J. C. Warner University Professor of Natural Sciences and Director of the Center for Macromolecular Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, USA

Also soft skill seminars were organised:

  • Pitch yourself & boost your network - Charline Vanbesien (My Shortlist)
  • Leverage your professional network on LinkedIn - Joke De Leeuw (Vlerick Business School)
  • Opening the Editor's Black Box: Insider Tips for Manuscript Writing and Successful Submissions - Jonathan Faiz (Wiley)
