CRF-ChemCYS 2022 Info

CRF-ChemCYS 2022 took place from 12 to 14 October 2022 in Blankenberge (Belgium). For the 2022 edition of ChemCYS, as a result of the aftermath of corona, we have joined forces with CRF. CRF is a conference organised by the two FWO (The Research Foundation - Flanders) communities Catalysis research: from individual active sites to reactors and Sustainable chemical processes for synthesis of fine chemicalsThe aim of the CRF-ChemCYS 2022 meeting was to bring together both young and experienced researchers from different fields in chemistry and life sciences.

The best oral and poster presentation of each session were awarded.

The headliners of the conference are the plenary speakers. We are proud to have welcomed the following leading scientists as plenary speakers at CRF-ChemCYS 2022:

  • Prof. Jonathan Goodman, University of Cambridge, UK
  • Prof. Gerhard Grübel, University of Hamburg, Germany
  • Prof. Javier García Martínez, IUPAC President

Besides the 3 plenary speakers, we also welcomed several keynote speakers to the stage to present chemical research that is being conducted at Flemish universities:

  • Prof. Eveline Peeters (VUB)
  • Prof. Kristof Van Hecke (Ghent University)
  • Prof. Sandra Van Vlierberghe (Ghent University)
  • Prof. Simon Kuhn (KU Leuven)
  • Prof. Wouter Maes (Hasselt University)
  • Prof. Steven Van Passel (University of Antwerp)

  • Prof. Kristel Bernaerts (KU Leuven)

Also soft skill seminars were organised:

  • Stress-les(s): coping with stress in an academic environment - The Human Link
  • Time to reach out! A crash course on scientific communication - Scimingo

CRF-ChemCYS also featured KaféCV, our entrance level networking event where participants get to know various companies and their recruitment policies. Unlike traditional job events, KaféCV focusses on career development rather than existing vacancies.
